I have an opportunity to pick up a very nice Leupold M8 4x I plan on putting on a Marlin 336. Anyone have real life experience with these scopes?

I’ve got one on an 1895 Marlin 45/70. Perfect for the job that rifle was meant to do. I’ve shot a lot of critters with it ranging from 30 yds to 135 yds. The fixed 4x gives you plenty of field of view up close for quick shots in cover, and makes the longer shots a little easier, especially when the light’s starting to fade. It’s held zero well, and is small enough to not look too out of place on a levergun.

Fine if you don't shoot deer inside 50 yards
