I got my left hand 10yr old a .224 Valkrie it has the 7'' twist. It doesn't shoot factory rounds (75gr) federals worth a crap. I've been time constrained lately and haven't played with it much besides shooting different factory loads for it in which it hard to get within 1'' at 100. (22'' barrel). Anyone found a decent recipe?

I don't think the Valkyrie is very popular on this site. There are a lot of 6.8 SPC and 6.5 Grendel shooters on this forum. I would look at the Hodgdon website. They have a lot of loads for the Valkyrie.

Thanks Scott, I was trying to find a shortcut.........I'm going to start from scratch shouldn't be to hard to get it shooting better than it does with factory. Federal gold medal was actually the worst and the American eagle was better but still a little outside of and inch which is horrible even for an AR platform.

Varget has shot well for me with 80 gr ELD and also Winchester 760 showed promise with 70 gr.

If it’s a PSA upper, seems they are hit or mis. Or may need a break in period.

Its Stagg Arms.....I was trying to cut a fat hog in azz but it looks like I'm going to have load a few loads and do some shooting. Its so wet I can't drive a ranger down range so shooting has come to a halt the last month.

My bud picked up a Wilson Combat barrel with a 1-6.5 twist and just put it together. Hopefully we’ll take it for spin this weekend. I’ll post results here as soon as I can.
