This is a buck my son took last year. My son Cody manages a ranch up in Sonora so his hunting time with me is very limited. I sent him some pictures of an 11pt that was coming pretty regular to his bow blind and he told me he would have some free time to hunt an evening later in the week. I stayed out of the area so not to cause the buck to change his pattern. Cody made it to the ranch about 30 minutes before the buck would normally show up according to the game camera, he grabbed his gear from his truck, shot two arrows into his block target to make sure he was on and we headed to his blind. I got him in his blind with 10 minutes to spare and hand fed the area to include pouring out a pile of sugar beet crush, I looked back a Cody and he was motioning me to hurry up. I decided as I drove away in the Polaris I would go sit in a blind not far from my son and scout for a bow hunter that was coming out in a few days. I climbed up into a tower stand and no sooner did I get the windows open I get a text from Cody to come get him, things started going through my mind of what happened. I text him back and asked what was wrong, he said I'm finished hunting come get me, I asked why and he said " Dad you had him figured out" I got him! Cody was in his blind no more than 10 minutes when he dropped this beautiful 11pt in his tracks. Cherish your time in and out of the woods with your kids!

Heck yeah. Is this the same son I posted a picture of for you like 5 yrs ago? If so he has grown.

I've seen some good ones this year Don.

I put my son in my blind with me early one morning and before daybreak I heard a deer walking behind us. When it got light he walked out in front of us and my son dropped him. He was the biggest deer killed on the ranch that year. My son looked at me and said “Dad, these deer are stupid”. I will never forget that since he was 10 years old at the time. He is 29 now.
