I'm jealous of the rifle but not the optic wah wah. Its good for you though. I still think the SHV squeezed the Bushy out and the Hubble...no comparison unless you have glaucoma...

Yes I agree with the backwards on the budget. The optic should be worth twice the rifle. That being said I do want to upgrade from a Triji to a NightForce

However in reality that is not always the case. Like me!

Here you go Buzz. Under Budget and it really is hard to get any better all around hunting rifle.

Sako 85 Black Bear 30-06 retail $1600
Trijicon Accupoint 3-9 X 40 $800

Very nice Scotty Cameron putter $380

This is starting to sound like an old Amex commercial

Nice rig Bigfoot, cant beat the 85 !!!

I need to head to Cabelas this week and handle some of these. I know they have a bunch, Berreta gallery has all the Sakos. Rifle Gear has the Sauer 100 and the Bergara's .

Anyone ever bought a Cabelas gun online? Can you refuse to take it when it comes in if you dont like it?

Rifle - PVA John Hancock - pick your caliber
Scope - Used NF NXS 5.5-22 or used SWFA HD 5-20

.5 MOA gun, stupidly reliable scope, nice chassis stock, barrel that can hold up to some long shot strings

Pretty awesome combo

I like these too, how do they group?

The ones I’ve seen....very good.

They are 1/2” guns from the factory I believe

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

I have handled 2 off the shelf rifles that I like,
you should give them a look, both under $2000

Bergara

Tikka TAC A1 - I really like everything about this

Cabelas should have both for you to fondle

I'm still wanting to handle the Havak, nobody has one. Going with the 6.5 PRC.

still waiting for reports on the Sauer Panteras

Wish Bergara chambered this round.

Still thinking of selling my Fairbanks 6.5 creed and building, Gonna be a winter project I'm afraid. Lead times

Between the car and the band I vote Sauer Pantera. Nope, never heard of it but with that name it can’t go wrong.

Call APR and see how fast they can put together a 6.5 PRC for you. It will be waaaay ahead of the Havak. I’ve seen it in person and it’s nothing special
