And it's not exactly a "match" rifle anyway with the skinny barrel and all.....

Great scope but I'm not a fan of the Death donut.

I have 2, 6'5 Creeds, so, I'm thinking something different even though there is no such thing as too many 6.5 creedmoors

I like! but I may have to raise the scope limit to $1500, looking at Nightforce SHV with exposed knobs or Swarovski Z-5 (lightweight)

Hunting or match? You can’t have both without weight issues.

Flip flop your budget. Tikka CTR for a $1000 then some glass for 2k. SS 5-20HD

That combo might not be sexy to you but will likely perform with or above anything else you can get in that budget.

I've ordered the Bushnell and the CTR will be ordered when the next commission check comes in. What's the "death donut?"

Didn’t say what type of hunting your doing but...

Christensen arms classic ridgeline from cabelas @ $1899

Leupold HD5 scope.

Good all around rig that will serve a person well

For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

Ahhh, makes sense. I haven't received the scope yet, so I'll reserve judgement until I get some time behind it.

The "doughnut" is very useful when using scope at lower mags. If you don't like the doughnut, the LRTS is the same reticle without the circle.

They donut is very friendly at low power in a ffp. Buzz is just jealous because the LRHSi is clearer and cheaper than his Hubble telescope nightforce

Off the rack
Hunting: 300 win mag Sako 85/Swaro (pushing the budget)
Target: .308 win Rem 5r mil spec/Nightforce SHV. (Would do a better job if I truly planned on using it for both).

I went two directions here. I like target rifles and hunting rifles set up completely different. A heavy target rifle does not suit me as a carry rifle, and a thin barreled, quick handling sporter with some thump is not an ideal target rifle.

The budget is fine, but the allocation is backwards.

Montana Rifle Company with a Nightforce NXS Compact 2.5-10x42.

MOAR, MIL-R, or IHR reticle, whichever you prefer.
