Anyone have one of these? I'm looking at one for USPSA Single Stack division. It seems to have most of what I want besides a magwell. Match grade barrel, hand fitted frame/slide, adjustable target rears and fiber optic front. Any down sides? At $850 shipped seems like a great deal only thing I can find that beats it is a TRP, but dont think the TRP is worth the extra 500. Would rather buy ammo. What say the THF?

Got a plain-jane RO, and love the way it shoots. Just wish the rear sight was a little less...well, UGLY. I'd settle for homely but it's just plain ugly to a 1911 admirer.

Is it the target sight like on the one above? I found some dawson precision Novak cut adjustable sights which I find pretty cool. I like the look of novak's

For 54 bucks?? That is ridiculous cheap! Not a bad lookin sight, either. Have you used one?

Yea I kind of like it better than the full fledge target sights and if I ever want to change them there are a lot more options for carry or night sights in the Novak variety.

If I was working with something other than a RO I'd definitely consider it, but I don't think I'd replace the rear sight on my RO with it. The slide is too heavily machined to look good, meaning that big flat machined forward of the dovetail cut. Best just leave it as is, IMO.

Yea for sure, if you put a Novak on there it would look weird and also think the dove tail cut is a different angle so would have to be fitted. But I was also looking at a used Kimber Custom CDP II for 700 that has all the MIM parts replaced with Wilson combat and kimber custom stop trigger job set to 1.8 pounds and it is novak cut so all I'd need to add is the dawson sights and magwell. It so has front slide serrations which I like for press checks. But buying someone elses gun that has been "worked" I'm not fond of lol.

It's also a light weight frame which I'm not wanting. I want it to soak up all the recoil it can.

You only live once and can’t take the money to the grave.

And people just aren’t smart enough to shoot them in competitions

My G34 did same thing just was shooting left. That 220 is nice though.

Still there is a reason the shooting sports are dominated by 1911's and 2011's.

The 34 with the mods it had wasn't legal in production, was 9mm so wouldn't have hung in limited being minor power factor, and was a double stack so cant shoot it in single stack division. A 34 for USPSA doesn't make sense. I was looking at G35's though because 40S&W gives you major power factor and a lot of people use them in limited. But I've been down that road with Glocks you never get even a quarter of the money you put in them because people think it is just a off the shelf Glock. At least with 1911's they retain their value very well. Plus single stack division just seems simplified for me good ole fashion.

So, 9mm or 45?

I’m really thinking about going the minor SS route for local matches.

And PS
Sigs suck.

I did a lot of research and decided to go with 45 the lose in score out weighed the extra 2 rounds per mag for me.
