Anyone familiar with this tree? Supposedly a fast growing oak tree which is only a Texas native (50 states). The leaves are deer resistant. I was just curious about the acorns. Are they high in tannin? Most white oaks are not. Not sure if they are categorizing this as white oak or red oak. There are no points on the ends of the leaves. Can't find anything about the acorn. I understand white oak is in the name, but can't find any references stating such.

I have one in my front yard that I purchased from a nursery. I don't know any details about the acorns other than they are fairly big. The tree has grown from 6 foot to about 20 foot in the last 10 years.
