Hey all,
I am going to get on a dove lease this year for the first time around Houston and wondering if anyone here has hunted the Katy area and have any recommendations.
Do the birds fall off pretty hard after opening weekend?

Depends on the fields. Some will have birds most of the season, some won’t have many birds period and some will be good for a few weeks then be spotty.

It almost seems as if the migratory patterns have moved west with all of the development around Katy. I was on a lease for several years and a couple years ago 30 hunters shot 3 birds opening morning. That same lease I had shot limits on in previous years and I am not a good shot.
