So what do you think the weather will be like for the opener?

I am thinking a crisp morning in the mid-50s with a light northerly breeze, 5 mph, and partly cloudy skies would be fitting.

As if the weather makes any difference. If a hurricane is hitting that morning I may need to adjust my aim for the wind. deer2

What opener?
Dove a cool 80 at sun up. High humidity and chance of rain.
Teal cooler 76 at sunrise no humidity no wind no clouds.
Bow 75 at sunrise wind 30 out of which ever is worst for that particular stand.

Yup....the only time weather kept me out of my stand was when an intense lightning storm moved through and I got down from my tower blind on the hill...seemed like wisdom at the moment....I've hunted opening weekend bundled up like the kid on Christmas Story and have also hunted shirtless in shorts....opening weekend is like a box of chocolates....

Don't matter to me I am still going hunting. TC will show what stand has the most activity and the best odds with the winds direction that day.

I've got some dandies coming into my best stand. One has a 6" droptine on left side. I'll be out come hell or high water.

Ha! I dream of an opening morning (bow) in the 50's. Can't remember the last time it happened though. In any case, I'll be out there sweating with the rest of you guys! Count down is on, prep work is done. At least I've got dove season to keep me busy.

Septemeber 29th, 2018 in South Texas. Full moon will have been 4 days earlier. Will be hot and dry. Bow hunting will be limited to very early and very late in the day. By November 3rd (rifle season), the moon will be a "no show" (new) and the weather will be cooler but still dry. Opening day will be "nice" hunting.

We had a few comfortable ones in the 2000's but it was location specific due to clouds and rain.
