It’s time to start getting ready for an elk hunt and a pronghorn hunt this year. After another year of applying for and not getting a rifle tag, it’s time to settle in for a more enjoyable and a little bit lower success rate (for me anyway) season.

After beating the heck out of these arrows for the last year they all needed to be refletched. Not exactly my favorite thing to do.
In the time I spent building these 24 I could normally load a couple hundred for one of the rifles.

40 pieces of fireformed 22-250ai, 100 pieces of Lapua .308 and 92 pieces of Lapua 6.5x284-- doing prep work and figuring out some recipes to test for this hunting season.

I’m pretty sure that every reloading bench requires a Shiner (as long as we’re talking about building arrows).

If it wasn’t for prepping brass I could make this reloading thing a serious hobby of mine.

I'm an "as needed" reloader.
That means when I get below "X" number or rounds for that caliber, I load whatever bullets I have available, then restock for next round. Have plenty of brass, primers and powder so usually buy bullets when they are on sale and stock up.
The rest of the time the gun bench is loaded with gun parts.

And other junk....lotsa junk!

I've recently tried a lot of the hipster TX craft beers and found them to be overpriced MEH. I will just stay with Shiner.

  • Empty packaging from a recent AR build
  • Youth baseball league notes
  • Grass/weed killer I mixed up the other day (what kills bamboo anyway?)
  • Used laces I removed from my son's Wilson A2000 during a re-string
  • Assorted trash

That's just one of the benches....on the casting bench I have:
  • Casting equipment (covered, stored)
  • Real walnut Ruger 10/22 stock with metal band and butt plate waiting for a refinish/resell
  • Prep tools for my two year ongoing LC 5.56X45 brass prep project

Pass the gravy.

Love the honesty GasGuzzler!

I've been busy this weekend. Today...

Bench on the left is working on 7.62x39 for my Savage 10FCM Scout and 303 British for my SMLE Scout. Load-Master bench on the right is waiting on two things; press on the left is ready for the 30 Carbine but I need to file the bullet feeder port opening a bit to allow the PPU 110-grain RNSPs to feed. Press on the far right is for the 7.62x39, specifically my Ruger Mini-30. It is waiting for a shipment of PPU 123-grain PSP bullets.
