I recently purchased a Savage Mark II TR form a forum member. I went to go site it in and couldn’t help myself but to try 100 then 200 yards I ended banging steel quite regularly and think it was some of the funnest shooting I’ve done in a long time. Anyone else into shooting 22 lr at longer distances? I was using the Vortex crossfire that came with the gun. I think I might try my Vortex AMG when it gets delivered.

Man I bet I burned through at least 100 rounds. Lots of trigger time for cheap! And it was pretty cool watching the bullet fly and hit the target.

It can be a lot of fun, especially with friends and some friendly wagers. At one range wehn it was mostly dirt golf ball races were lots of fun. Who could run their golfball to the berm first with an open sighted 22

I have a savage 93fvr, or something like that. It's a plain bolt action with a slightly thicker barrel, 16" and threaded. I love it. Shot it at 200 and 300 yards and at least on paper.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

Put a Mil/Mil in my 35 year old 10/22.
Zeroed at 50 yards, got corrections for 100, 200, and 300 yards. Don't have it in front of me, but if memory serves it is about 13.0 Mils to 300 yards, and over a second of flight time.
That's the same correction for a .308 Win at 1200 yards, for reference.

I’m definately going to try and stretch it out to 300 once I get my AMG I didn’t plan on shooting that far. It just happened and now I’m fascinated by it lol

Used to bang 100 meter steel on my buddy’s range with his suppressed Ruger .22 pistol. Once you figured holdover, it was fun.

I had a Remington 541S with a Weaver T6 30 or 40 years ago. Would have got rich if I could have found enough takers to bet against me at long range. It liked Federal golden semi hollow point, 88 cents per box. Still have a ammo can full of it somewhere.

I have a full size Ruger M77 in .22 LR. Leupold Tactical 4.5-14 x 50mm scope on it. Shoot it out to 200 yards all the time. Great practice for the inexperienced and experienced, alike! And a great hog deterrent that doesn't spook the deer.

I've got a Viper HST 6-24 on my Ruger 77/22. I've taken it to 400 yards, but realistically 300 yards is about it for consistent hits on a 16 inch gong. I also did quite a bit of testing on 22LR ammo for 200 yard groups and by far the best grouping for HV ammo was the Federal Gold Medal HV Match. We had 4 different rifles and in all 4 the GMM shot the best at longer ranges. Second best, and it wasn't very close, was CCI Mini Mag solids.
Silver spurs and gold tequila keep me hanging on. Pretty girls and old cantinas give me shelter from the storm.

Take my Savage Mark II out to 400 regularly. Norma Match runs great in my gun if you haven't tried it. Using a Vortex PST 6-24 on it right now. Love to shoot this gun.
