Set up a pig pipe the other day in a new spot and had a sounder hit it the same night. 4-5 big sows and lots of little guys. Went out last night and as soon as I got within 100 yards or so I could hear the pig pipe rolling. The stalk was miserably slow as I had to keep cover between myself and hogs because the moon was extremely bright not to mention the dry grass sounded like firecrackers while I was sneaking up. Finally got in place and had to wait for a good shot. Finally a sow gives me a good shot and I drop her. Then other hogs run and I get another with a running heart shot you can see her about to go down a few seconds after the first shot. Then the bacon bits come back looking for mom and I got one of them. All in all a good night and a lot of fun.

Surprisingly the slug didn't explode that bacon bit lol. Exit wound was only slightly larger than the diameter of the slug.

it’s fun and effective in the right hands but I’d much prefer to be using my 6.8

So the thermal must be handling the slug recoil just fine. Good shooting for sure.

That "boom...chunk-chunk" on the soundtrack is golden!

Been looking for a good barrel for one of my Mossberg 12s!
May have to see how well a Photon stands up on it.

had a buddy who put his photon on a 12 gauge and it worked ok until he installed some German camera lens or something on it and then it wouldn’t hold zero at all but I think it’s because of the aftermarket lens he installed but can’t rule out recoil or loose mounting screws because I didn’t mess with it at all. I’d contact them first and make sure warranty will cover it if there is an issue then again if there was an issue I wouldn’t tell them you had it on a shotgun.

It's an old Photon 5X so warranty is long gone.
Has held zero on my backup 6.8 for years and has introduced many friends and family to night hunting.
That's the reason it lives there: getting others hooked!

I'll have to do it old school style and use the dot sight, wind, moonlight and a lotta luck to test it out!

That looked like fun. How far was that?

I love those colored piggies. That little one has some character to him with the spots
