So I was sighting in a new scope I put on my 300blk out AR, got the gun grouping really well switched over to a hunting round to dial it in and the gun shot all over place..I'm talking 3 shot group close to 6in apart at 100 yards. So I switched back to the original ammo that was shooting 1in groupsand same thing. I ran out of time and packed up. Get home check the scope mount and everything was good except my muzzle brake turned out to be really loose. Could that effect accuracy that much? I put some loctite on it and will try again this weekend.

Yes. It’s going to change the barrel harmonics

Brake installed correctly can impact harmonics, as BP said. Brake that has loosened up can definitely effect things.

Best thing to do is work up a new load with the brake on it and go from there. If your brake was loose, I'd take it off and clean the whole brake and your gun threads really well and then re-install and tighten down good. You may have to work up a new load or may not. My rifle shot the same loads good with and without the brake, but the POI moved a good bit (almost a mil if I remember right).
