I've had difficulty trying to get good and reliable when dealing with 10 rd 1911 mags, I don't even use 8's.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

Try Tripp for 10 rounds, but the 10 rounders have the level of reliability as an 8 round. I carry a 1911 everyday, Les Baer SRP, and use 8 round Wilson ETM or Tripps as reliability is the single most important factor and non-negotiable. https://www.trippresearchinc.com/store/store_1911.html

Only need 10 rounders for shooting the rare pistol stage, at a rifle match. Other than that, it has the good ole 7+1 in it all the time.

Ah, then Tripp. The Wilson ETM and Tripp 8 rounders are very reliable for carry.

Thanks Jeff.
$39.95 isn't bad if they work, and will last.

You’re welcome. Wilson and Tripp mags are very durable and will last indefinitely. I keep my mags loaded all the time and just replace the spring once a year and clean the insides as needed.

These will be kept unloaded, until needed, a couple times a year.

Just take them apart after the match to clean the inside with Gunscrubber and they should last forever - well as long as no one steps on them and crunches the feed lips into the rocks. I’ve killed a few like that that.

I’ve never had an issue with my Chip McCormick Power 10’s.

Interesting y'all like the McCormick's.
I used the 8 rounders for a very short while.
One hit the ground (concrete) and the follower and spring popped out.
It must have been the one in a million just right combination of factors and may have been kicked/stepped on, but it is the only mag that ever has done that to me.
I sent them back and was refunded no questions asked which was nice.
While doubtless it was a bizarre fluke occurrence, it sure did not inspire confidence.
It was a near new mag, and had not been disassembled.

I’ve been dropping them all across USPSA stages for 10 years and never had a problem.

Understand and not surprised. It is the only time it has happened to me even using crappy USGI mags long ago. Had to have been the perfect convergence of some odd factors.
