Went for lunch there today. Finally got a good steak. Love the Range Rattlers. I wouldn't pay for it, but I'll sure go for free.

We like Saltgrass. If you go there often, get the Landry's card. About every 3rd time we go we get $25 off our order.

I have only enjoyed that place in San Antonio. The ones in Houston have lost my business.

I was never fond of that restaurant when we lived in Houston. And the one in Waco is just as mediocre. It isn’t bad, but neither is it good.

Last time I ate at one over a year ago, had a ribeye. It was the sorriest ribeye I've ever had in my life. Never had that experience there before but it was terrible! Tough as boot leather, overcooked and no flavor. Maybe I just caught them on a bad day.

Their skillet potatoes are pretty legit. We go by there a few times a year and have always been pretty please.

You may be in my area. Ever get down Hwy 7 through Chilton? After you leave Chilton, right before the gas station at the "Y" towards Marlin, there's a place called Frank's, on the right. Best damn ribeye I've ever had, every time. A friend of my family owns it. It doesn't look like much, but they do a helluva' good steak. I think they're only open Thursday-Saturday.

Screw Salt Grass. They knee-jerk banned a customer from their restaurant after their employee perpetrated a hoax on the customer. After the employee admitted to the hoax, they invited the customer back for a free meal. I hope he told them where to put that free meal.

Where would you pick for a weekly steak dinner? I’d love to be able to swing Del Friscos or similar weekly, but that’s not happening. Doesn’t seem like there is an in between price wise

Bigpig, the wife and I just go to Outback. The one in Waco is quite good. If we lived in DFW or Houston, we’d probably go to Perry’s, which is pretty good, though not terrific, but not too overpriced. If you were buying, we’d go to Fleming’s, Vic and Anthony’s, or Pappa’s. And 3 Forks in Dallas is really outstanding.

Slow Drifter, I was just through that area, on the way to Marlin, and I guess I must have seen Frank’s. Didn’t look like a steakhouse. I have heard good things about it. We’ll try it, because so far I haven’t had a good steak near the house since High Cotton in Marlin closed. We can have a steak at several places near home, but not a good steak. Driving to Waco and Outback is our best option these days - but we’ll try Frank’s.

I make steak at home. It's darn good too. If I pick a place to go out to it's for food I can't make at home.

I don't know of a better dinner salad than the one served at Saltgrass. We use to go often when they had a dish called Hickory Chicken on the menu, but apparently we were the only ones ordering it as they removed it from the menu. We still go often, but instead of steak I get friend shrimp or chicken fried chicken.

Ive always had good luck at every Saltgrass except Bossier City. For a chain restaurant, they are about the best. I still prefer to grill my own though.

If anybody is ever in Stephenville, Ruby's right off of the square has the best aged steak I have ever eaten.

I like Salt Grass for one of this places that we can eat every week because the price is right. I prefer either 4 Winds or Del Friscos, but this aren’t in my budget for weekly places to eat. I have had terrible steaks from SG, but that’s bound to happen. Love their salads. It’s funny though, they aren’t all the same. The Mesquite location has always had a better steak than the Rockwall location.

It amazes me how many people go to a steak house to eat rabbit food. I ate at a Saltgrass one time and never been back. But what do I know.......I hate Mary's Cafe in Strawn. banana

Saltgrass has great grilled chicken and a good chicken fried steak! I think everything is pretty good other than their steaks! I haven’t ever been impressed with their steaks but pretty much everything else is good.

Range Rattlers are the bomb! I get two large orders every time I go, that’s all that I eat besides the bread.

I've had okay experiences with the one in McKinney. However, there is no way I'll wait in line for thirty or forty minutes. It's not that good by any measure.

Get the Landry's select card. Costs $25 but you get a $25 credit in the first couple days, so essentially free. Earn points, get rewards, Yadda yadda... biggest thing is priority seating. I've never waited longer than it takes to finish a beer at the bar.

I used to get the CFS, but it is really expensive. I like cotton patch way better. So I tried the ribeye and man was it really small and thin like somebody else mentioned. It isn't bad, but just terrible value. As silly as it sounds, I can get a better meal at Texas Roadhouse and much cheaper.

That location is officially dead to me. I enjoy Saltgrass, but that location ALWAYS has a line, the wait is always 15-20 longer than they say, we are a family of three and they will seat larger families who came after us first every single time. Saturday's dinner was a 2.5 hour ordeal and our waiter acted like he had 15 redbulls in his system. This time the food was very good, but last time they undercooked my chicken, when I returned it they brought out more undercooked chicken.
