Perfect time to go a head and mow so the sun and heat with the lack of rain will hopefully kill existing grass and weeds. I did it this past weekend.

I mowed yesterday and will be spraying next weekend, then plowing two weeks later. Plowing once more and planting around Sept 15. I have three plots and all are new ground and never been touched before therefore, I think they will need a little extra work with the plowing and weed killing to get it ready for oats and winter peas. This plot is a little over 2 acres. I call it "White Oak Plot," because of the one huge White Oak tree in the middle of the plot.
