Still early enough for those "spikes" to fork on one or both sides. Nice young bucks though.

Had lots of pics of a spike last year and this year he is showing as a 9, surprised me. I am 100% positive it is the same deer because the deer is very distinctly identifiable.

I'd love to see a really big spike this year. I haven't killed a deer in 2 seasons. I'm ready.

Most those “spikes” will be fork horns and all young.

All three pics are of the same spike. Unless of course ALL your "spikes" (which as pointed out, will end up with forks) have the same patch of missing hair on their right ham in the exact same spot.

It's been a few years since I've seen a spike. I guess that's a good thing, no?

Those/that deer will be a fork horn when developed.
Last year we didn't see any spikes until the muzzle loader season came around.
Only deer I took last year.

Its been two years since I have seen a spike on the Parker County place. Been trying to manage for age class. I think I have good representation out to 6/7 year olds now. Have a new neighbor, so not sure how long my plan will last, will see after this season?

Haven’t seen any spikes at the Montgomery county place in the two years I’ve been there.

We have spikes in wet years and dry no matter what it seems like. I wouldn't call any of those deer spikes, I would think they will all be fork horns by time they shed.
