T.O.O. is now offering limited dove hunts on a smaller, 15 acre, field located in east Medina County, 2.5 miles south of LaCoste, Texas.
Field is planted w/hybrid black oil sunflower seed, with staggered planting to insure continuous seed maturity for the special WW season weekends in early September and continuing into the general south zone dove season.
Specifics of this hunt include:
1. Limited hunters, maximum of 10, for any day. 3 hunter minimum to book a hunt, if a hunt day has at least 3 hunters we will take solo & double hunters to fill up to 10 hunters.
2. Hunts are currently scheduled every third day to allow recovery. Exception is the two WW weekends in early September. We will not hunt consecutive days outside of the WW special season.
3. We will cancel if dove numbers are not high enough to allow for ample shooting opportunities
4. All hunts will be supervised. We keep a close watch to make sure everyone is having a great time, but not infringing on neighboring properties/ other hunters.
5. Hunters have the opportunity to "hire" a young runner to help with bringing shells, water, counting harvest, etc be a "Boy/Girl Friday" if hunters want one.
6. Field is planted with approximately 300,000 hybrid BOSS sunflower, which are growing very nicely and should be drawing WW dove from LaCoste, Castroville, Lytle, Natalia, southwestern S.A/Bexar area, and even from the Devine area. Dove flights should be a smaller version of the former Nooner hunts, not as many dove are expected, but we expect plenty coming to the field.
7. First focus is WW dove, we expect a huge number of local WW dove to come to the field daily. Later in the general south zone season we expect Mourning dove to also be numerous and there is a fairly substantial number of Collared doves in the area.
8. Hunts are $120 per hunter per day.
9. We offer a 10 gun, $1,000 total cost deal if a company, corporation, or group books all 10 spots.
10. Field is 30 minutes from downtown S.A.
11. Payment is cash and reflects a cash discount. Once trust is built on both sides we can discuss other means of payment.
12. A waiver will be signed by all hunters and all game laws will be strictly enforced.

Hunters can request dates starting today July 9th, 2018, we'll confirm & secure reservations specific days starting July 18th. Currently Sunday September 2nd is the only day we have spots filled & July 9th is the first notice offering dove hunts. By the week of August 20th-24th, we'll have a very good idea if dove numbers are high enough that hunts will happen. At that time we'll start the planning process for the upcoming hunt days.

Posting all this information so as many questions as possible can be answered here.

If interested please email or text us to have a written request on file with us. Do not call until July 18th, we will start taking phone calls then.

Last pictures until middle August when BOSS will be at maturity, expect to have pictures & videos. Pictures speak for themselves, however...........

Field is looking fantastic, flocks of WW flying over, coming back and scouting the field. Second planting getting ready to bloom any day now.

update & pictures taken 8-22-18
Field is looking great, sunflowers hitting maturity

Opening day Special WW season folks cancelled. Folks will be paying for a dove shooting hunt, not a beer drinking & shooting up the place "hunt"

.

We may, (our decision) allow limited consumption of beer after your gun is cased, but no alcohol drinking while shooting. That's the rule.

Had a wet, but fantastic opening day on Friday. Worst shooter took 12 and had 3 lost, rain ended hunt a bit early.

Looks to be drying out this week, dove are everywhere coming to the sunflowers. Gone to be a bit muddy for a few more days, but field is easily accessible.

call/text/email and gt in some fantastic dove hunting 30 minutes from downtown SA.

$100 per gun
