So far I've been successful staying off BP meds, all meds for that matter. The recent news about Valsartan/Diovan reaffirms that for me.

I came across this and wondered how many people have their BP taken accurately. Some of these details are the difference between being diagnosed with high BP and normal.

What recent news are you referring to? I take Valsartan.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/06/health/valsartan-heart-drug-recall-intl/index.html

I'm assuming that is the news he's referring to...but the US is not affected to by the recall.

The automatic cuffs, especially the wrist ones, are inaccurate and all over the place anyways. If your Drs office isn't manually taking BPs, they're half-assing your vital signs.

Your chart doesn't cover when the doctor taking it is female, young, cute, and sticks your arm/hand under her arm, right next to her breast. grin

Which is exactly how I got my first BP med prescription! Something about snugging my arm under very large breastuses makes my BP spike. roflmao I tried telling her I'm just fine nuts I'm thinking that's about +36 variance

Before getting a Permacath for dialysis back in January quite a few times the young nurse took my blood pressure as it was running low that night. After I do not know how many times of waking me up with a cuff around my arm I told her no offense but if waking up and seeing her face didn't get my blood pressure to increase I must be in really bad shape.

Yes positioning does make a difference then there is also White Coat Syndrome.

The FDA has now issued a recall due to cancer causing agents found in blood pressure and heart failure drugs.

Having some blood pressure is usually good.

I was kidding. Funny though.

I actually stopping all of BP medicine. Too much of a hassle. Heck they had my heartbeat down 50 bps and my kidneys started to hurt. I quit taking them and I actually feel better.

When I first got on BP meds I took mine every morning. Always quite a bit lower and more consistent than when at the doctors office.

Could be. I don't like going to Doctor's much.
