I have a couple friends with Artic Cats not that particular model though. They are happy with them.

Personally, I lean toward Honda and Yamaha, but my Dad had an Arctic Cat for years and could not kill it. He was a firm believer in doing NO maintenance, which includes oil changes. He’s gone now, but the atv is still running.

My preference has been for a Kawasaki or Honda, Myself and everyone I know has had bad experiences w/Yamaha products, they don't stand behind their warranty. They were good products in the late 60's and then went downhill (my opinion) in the 70's and have never lived up to name they had built back then. I have owned several Yamaha motorcycles and waverunners, I will never buy a Yamaha again.

for me buying used? all about the hours - if they are high then no matter what brand trouble will eventually happen. I look for low hours

arctic cats are good bikes. Hours is sometimes hard to go by because if you left the key in the on position, it is counted against hours. But I always do a miles/hour calculation. If 5 or less, most likely a mud bike. But if you see it is well taken care of and pay attention to the sellers other stuff to see if it is taken care of as well. That will say alot if he took care of the bike.

IF it has a snorkel or a hole in body for a snorkel run away as fast as you can.

There were a lot of ATVs that got swamped during the last Hurricane that are just now surfacing on used market so be careful if it comes from Houston or coast area.

Whatever you buy, treat your gas with Stabil 360 or other good gas stabalizer or you will be paying BIG BUCKS to have the EFI cleaned and serviced.

All that being said, I would stick with Honda or Kawasaki.

I agree run away from the mudders but the mph average is not the whole story. My rancher is up around 4800 miles and under 5 mph average. Spent its life checking cows and doing pasture work since new in 07. Probably only 6-700 of those miles on the lease. It’s been worked hard and serviced properly and still runs like it did when it was new. It does looks a little worse for the wear with scratches and such. Then again it’s a Honda so I’d say it’s doing it’s job as I’ve come to expect from them.

I look at model year then hours. Bought a kubota tractor that was 8 years old with 31 hours. Bought a Polaris 4 wheeler 2007 with 300 hours. Most cases a lightly used vehicle trumps the age IMO

Buying a used ATV just might be asking for trouble.

Buy from an older individual if it was their personal vehicle, if you buy from someone young, chances are it was a mudder and maybe riden hard and put up wet.
