Thanks Rob!!!
So fortunate to have seen Rob's post for GSP puppies here on THF. What a great guy!! Met up with him yesterday part way between San Antonio and DFW (Thanks for making the drive, Rob!). He brought two of the puppies with him and we each ended up going home with one of them! We couldn't be happier!!! I have been looking for just the right GSP for close to a year now...we found a great girl!!! We are thrilled. Rob made the whole process a breeze!! Met him, his wife and his two sons with the puppies yesterday! Can't say enough good things about this puppy or Rob!! Give him a call, puppies of this quality will be gone soon!! We ended up with darkest roaned female (in front, second from right) in his picture posted over in "puppies for sale." Looking for good names for a dark roaned, female GSP...feel free to make some suggestions. 4 of us in the truck for 4+ hours last night with the puppy and still no name.....UGH!

Close enough to the 4th of July. How about Lady Liberty. Call her Libby.

Congratulations on the new pup! I see from your post that you’ve been looking for a pup for over a year until you found this litter. What appealed to you about this litter over the others you’ve looked at? The puppy for sale add reads to me like the parents are not bird dogs but are pets that instinctually point. I’m wondering what Makes you think puppy’s of this quality will go so soon at $900.

Just wondering because I have a Shorthair gyp I’m thinking of breeding to a buddy’s stud. Both are Slick bred dogs and awesome in the field and aim to please. I’m just wondering what makes one litter of shorthairs stick out from the others.

As far as names go:
The three girls I have now are Kate, Lucy, and Bonnie.
Past good girls:
Lady
Pearl
LORI
Brandy
Sue
Donna
Gypsy
Jill
Irene
Ruth

Great question scalebuster!

To me, with any quality bird dog it is ALL about the bloodlines. I can appreciate your skepticism based on just the add that was posted here on THF. What the ad does not show is the pedigree of this litter. I am a firm believer in finding a litter with strong lines and then picking the puppy you like (coloring, personality, etc) only AFTER you have decided on litter due to pedigree. I reached out to Rob when I saw his post and he was kind enough to forward me the pedigrees on the parents. Without seeing the pedigree, I would not have considered one of these (or any other) puppies. They are "littered" with Champions (both conformation and Field Champions) on both sides. Even National GSP Hall of Fame dog(s) are represented. Some of the absolute most respected and reputable GSP Kennels in Texas and North America are represented in the pedigree of these puppies. Even the famed Hege-Haus line is present here.
We have had "Tillie" for less than a week now, but I can assure you, this dog was bred for the field. At 11 weeks old she is already much more than just instinctively pointing. She has impressed me immensely in a very short time. Her disposition is excellent as well.
I know that we are pleased.

Great looking pup. I love GSP, my dad raised them years ago. We had a female that we hunted pheasants in Utah, and when we moved to Texas in 1969, she never missed a lick, picked up on quail, just like she did the ringnecks. Great hunting dogs, with a lot of heart.

I can't believe you still have puppies available?!?!?! I am telling you THF (and I am not being paid in any way by Rob), if you are even the slightest bit interested in a GSP puppy, reach out to Rob and ask him to send you copies/pics of the pedigrees for the parents. You will NOT be disappointed. I promise! Dogs with bloodlines like this would normally go for twice the money!

Good luck with the pups Rob!! Tillie is doing fantastic!! Thanks again!

Thanks for the compliments on Ms. Tillie!! She is continuing to amaze me!! Great disposition and certainly has a strong prey drive....was playing in backyard last night when a rabbit appeared from brush pile out towards back.....she was off like a shot!
