saw waves of whitewing coming off fresh harvested wheat at Uvalde late May
now milo is being combined and early corn also..
plus there's lotsa the large sunflowers starting to ripen around here and later there's some sesame gonna be ready (not as much as past yrs, tho)
plenty of food and time for one more hatch
W of SA
and as always, San Antonio proper has stupid amts that'll never hear a gun-blast..

It's looking good here in North Texas, water being scarce will concentrate them to food nearest water as well, so looks to be a good one, plenty of local birds and Eurasians right now, and storms in Midwest will send them in soon

I don't know much about NTx doves, but the last 15 or so yrs W of SA
WW doves can be flocking bigger than blackbirds..
usually by late Aug, early Sept the whitewings from Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene and Angelo plus probably some DFW birds drop on us here..
now we have adapted to these birds showing up and made
arrangements to entice and keep them here...Yuma Az calls itself the dove capitol of USA...
I'll contest that.

And thank you for the dove countdown sallysue. Ever since puddin stopped a couple years ago I've missed it.

Yes you're right it was udamdan. I always looked forward to the countdown. yah I've seen a lot of y'alls posts over the years.

I just joined a 2,000 acre dove club with max out outfitters outside of Katy. First year they've done a dove lease on this property. I'm pretty excited.
