HD glass, or standard? SFP, I assume? Any plans on this scope with mil-quad reticle and mil adjustments? If so, that would be just the ticket for a LW big-game hunting scope.

If it's reliable as the rest of your scopes at that weight, I'm sure it will sell. Not everyone wants a 30 oz scope.

They gonna make something I can use? Just buy it, and maybe someone will come out and teach you how.

Sorry... just found the "Specifications" tab. Assuming standard glass since "HD" is not specified and price point. Question on future reticles/turrets still stands... If the 3-9x42 HD came with capped turrets, I would buy them for every hunting rifle I own. They are awesome scopes, built like tanks, crazy reliable, but I would rather not have to scotch tape my turrets for piece of mind while hunting...

2.5-10X is handy. I'm with you. Give it the Mil Quad reticle, knobs under caps that adjust in 1/10 Mil.
Win!

I like the reticle choice. It's a 2.5x10 and light as heck, great for hunting. For killing hogs, I wouldn't want all that other in my sight picture. For me, when seconds count, basic duplex is all I want to see.

I don’t see how a mil quad or mil dot reticle would slow anyone down. Just use the crosshairs like a duplex. Some of the target reticles are a little thin for low light brush but the same can be said for some of the thinner duplex’s.

Correct. Second Focal Plane Reticle. Sadly I am not aware of that. Why such short eye relief? Johnny, on 2.5X the specs say 3.33" However when briefly looking through it, it appeared longer to me. I think it's closer to 3.8" - 3.5" Wish it had a different reticle Patrick, what would your recommendation be?

Just a couple wind ticks and hold over ticks. Keep it simple and uncluttered
Simple like the vmr -2moa in the pst2 1x6
Vortex hs4 moa reticle
If you didn’t go duplex I think a good German 4 might be better
Just my opinion which means nothing

I tend to agree with this. Mil-quad sacrifices nothing over a standard duplex, but adds a lot of value if you do reach out. I'm not as familiar with the reticles that BIL posted, but I'm familiar enough with the mil-quad that I just don't see a negative in adding it over the duplex. I like the 2.5-10 range and light weight though. Good design and good price if the glass is decent - I'm sure it'll be a good seller.

Exactly right, Brad.
.5 hash 1.0 diamond 1.5 hash 2.0 diamond 2.5 hash 3.0 diamond
That's enough to make holds out to 500 yards. And the diamonds are quick for the eye to pick up, when speed matters.

I think the MilQuad that is on the 3-9X at 9X would be perfect for a SFP hunting scope.
If you gave me a 6X fixed with the reticle above, an elevation turret from your SS 1-4X (MIL) and a capped windage turret, you would create a perfect big game hunting scope.
