Recent pictures on the forum have shown some excellent trophy Axis bucks. Was wondering how old long it takes for an Axis to grow 32-36 inch antlers?

I don't believe some will ever get to say 36". Just as some WT will ever be 160" The Axis that is in with my Ibex that I take pictures of in my opinion will never make 36". It is all in the genes.

There are others with more experience than I on this matter but Don is right some will never get to that length while others will.

From some past discussions axis live longer than whitetails and will get their best antlers at a time when whitetails are going down hill or already gone from age related issues. IIRC around 10 or 11 are where Axis reach full potential. I have seen some over 30 that were 5 years old for sure as they age in a high fence situation can be kept up with.
