I have a buddy that just gave me a new one of these and wondering if there is anything I need to know about setting it up? Never used one before and he gifted it to me and my boys BRAND SPANKING NEW!!

The Ravin crossbows come pretty much setup from the factory other than mounting the scope and quiver bracket then sighting in.

Use String wax on the strings where they are not wrapped with other strings and that will help some with string life.

Mostly keep fingers out of the string path and treat it like a gun because it basically is.

The Hawk scope they are using is pretty good and functional out to 100 yards for those bows. Start by getting the 20 yard line in the scope dead on at 20 then start shooting longer distances, minor tweaking might be needed if you are wanting to take it further but it should be pretty close to right.

Keep an eye on it and the string location at the string stop, as the string stretches it will hit them harder and when the string starts fraying replace it.
