This is her second time shooting this pistol. It is a walther PPS M2. I have shot about 180 rounds through it with no issue, mostly FMJ and some JHP. She has shot about 80rds through it with 3 issues:
1. She said she felt and heard the trigger click but did not fire. I checked mag and that slide was forward. Puller trigger and it fired.
2. She was in the middle of her trigger squeeze and it stopped halfway. So I rejected that round and the next one shot fine.
3. A regular stovepipe where the round entering the chamber got jammed cockeyed halfway in.
She was shooting pretty well but now has lost confidence with it and I can tell her accuracy went down.
I'm thinking she isn't following through with her trigger pull but am not sure if I should talk to Walther about this and maybe something wrong with the pistol.

Was #1 on the first round? If so, slide could have been gently moved forward into position not allowing full reset. Just a thought.
#3, how is she holding the pistol? If you limp wrist it, it's easy to get a stove pipe. Also, if you are running a light weight grain bullet and the ammo is slower speeds, it can cause the same thing.
What ammo are you running?

There may be multiple different things going on at the same time.

What kind of ammo?

Was the primer dented?

Was the slide all the way forward?

Winchester and Remington ammo both have high rates of fail to fires.

Federal American Eagle is decent quality bulk practice ammo.

I have not tried any of Chad's bulk pistol ammo, but need to.

I have a feeling it will be like everything he does and be great.

Winchester white box is not worth buying anymore. The quality is awful.

Make sure she has a firm two-handed grip, high up into the beavertail, arms extended straight out, wrists firm, and leaning well forward from the waist.

Do not use the old Weaver style of arms bent at the elbows like a shock absorber.

The will help the slide cycle correctly and improve reliable function.

As for the trigger locking up, make sure she is releasing it far enough to reset.

Also, the trigger may not be functioning correctly because the slide is not returning to the fully closed position.

The cure is to improve her grip and form.

Also make sure the pistol is clean and lubricated.

Those are just a few quick thoughts.

Limp wristIng is my guess. Had that same problem with the wife and my Beretta PX4.

All ammo was 115grain, American Eagle and magtech. The JHP were Remington. No #1 was not first round, actually all 3 were about mid-mag. Primer was not dented and slide was forward. Yea we definitely need to work on her grip, just wasn't sure if that would cause these problems. I have never had this happen other than some stove-pipes here and there even when I shot a lot in the service. We'll try some 124grain and grip work. I haven't heard of any bad reviews for this pistol.

The best way to teach a new shooter is to use a 22lr.

The M&P 22 is a good tool for teaching as it feels and operates like the bigger semi she will be firing. Using the 22, she will develop good habits, aiming, breathing, and trigger control, and not worry about recoil. Once she masters the 22, then step up to the 9mm.

Women are every bit as capable as men of being highly proficient with a pistol, maybe more so because the are patient, listen, and follow instructions.

Give her the tools and gently work her into the bigger pistol, especially if she is losing confidence.

Agree with above from the guys. Most likely culprit is form, possibly ammo but like others said you are using good ammo that is usually reliable.

Something I have seen help quite a few on trigger control is make sure the gun is unloaded and dryfire practice or using snap/caps. Put a coin on the slide and have her practice until the coin stays put through the trigger pull and reset of the trigger.

Limp wristing is a real problem. Does not allow the slide to go all the way back creating feeding and firing issues.
