My 3.5yo had his first range trip today.
He shot my 22 but of course it is to long of LOP for him.
Looking to buy him a chipmonk, cricket, or ???
What has good quality, accuracy, good trigger(aftermarket if needed), can mount a scope?

Just bought my kids a cricket. It shoots straight I shot it and hit first target I was aiming at.

Mine has a Savage Rascal. Same dimensions as the Cricket but has an Accutrigger.
Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Started my son on a Crickett... but if I was in the market today, I would get the Savage Rascal. Same manual of arms as a standard bolt rifle, and better trigger.

Rascal. I’ll be buying one soon. A heavy trigger is potentially safer, but the triggers on the crickets are in my experience messing with a couple much much to heavy to teach a kid to shoot with. A kid doesn’t need a 2lb Trigger, but they don’t need a 10lb Trigger either. The rascal has an accutrigger that is well worth it.

After some reading.....I will be picking up a Rascal.

I got my Grandkids a Rascal as that was all that was available at the time on the shelf. Two of them have cut their shooting teeth on them. Good little rifle.

Savage Rascal. Multiple colors available and I agree on the Accutrigger is a benefit.
