Diamondbacks is a pretty good and very expensive steak house. Chuy’s forMexican, or Los Cucos.

There are some Ok places, but a shortage of really nice restaurants.

There’s good BBQ in Belton!

135 Prime may be the place, but I've never been. I have heard it's good though. Hearing Temple has a few places down town but its not Waco....

There are good places to eat in Waco, but not ‘real nice places’. Depends a lot on what a fellow expects. We like George’s, BJ Brewhouse, Heitmillers, Chuys, the sushi place at the mall (forgot the name), and a few others. There is, unfortunately, a real shortage of places to get good seafood or Italian, Chinese, and BBQ.

I’ll try it next time i’m In that area. It has to be better than the BBQ places in Waco I’ve tried in the last few years. Of course, I could have missed a place or two. Haven’t been to all of them, I think. As for steak, I keep hearing good things about the I-35 Steakhouse, or whatever the precise name is.

Supposedly there’s a good Italian place in Hewitt, but I haven’t been able to go there yet.

Favorite Chinese place in Waco has always been Pei Wei, but I do believe that their food quality has dropped. Mama Fu’s is looking better.

Depends on one's definition of 'nice restaurant'. My wife would say doesn't exit there. I'm told Magnolia by Jo Gains is good but waits can be 2-3 hours (tourist attraction).

135 Prime and Diamondback's would fit most anyone's definition of nice, as would 1424.

Cathay House for Chinese. Been there for years, great food and service. Others, not what I'd call "nice" restaurants, but across the river on Waco Dr. are Jasper's and DeMario's BBQ. Both on the left. You'll pass Jasper's first, I prefer DeMario's. Both have good BBQ and indoor picnic table seating.

I've never eaten at Cajun Craft, glad to hear they're good. By their signage I took it that they sell pre-packaged glorified TV dinners. I work close to there and have to give them a shot. It used to be Krispy Chicken (we all called it CrakHouse Chicken because of the location).

I've heard good things about Magnolia's Table, on the cirlce where the Elite Cafe used to be, but I've never been and it always looks really crowded.
