Maybe a dumb question. Do any of y’all store your spices or rubs outside? I’m hopefully getting a Blackstone this weekend, and I wanted to leave some of my rubs outside with it. My worry is moisture getting into the containers and ruining the seasonings. Any advice?

Why?
I pride myself on the fact that I can stay in the house and talk to my wife long enough to Season the meat before I go outside and cook with my boys. That’s quality family time.

I just thought it might be nice to do all of my food prep outside to limit the mess in the kitchen as best as possible.

I keep spices in a Tupperware container for when I travel. That would work for your situation.

I prefer to do all of the prep work inside where I have a sink so I can keep everything cleaned up.

I usually do all my prep inside too ... and clean up the mess when I'm done. I just don't have the table space around my pit area, plus if I did, keeping that clean enough to do prep would require cleaning both before and after.
anyway, I would think you could mix up your spices and put in a sealed container, like tupperware, etc. and should be fine ... moisture would be the biggest concern in the uncontrolled outside environment.

When we did the cook offs, we stored all of our spices in a large 20mm ammo can. We did that with a Vietnam veterans group, our display was set up like a Firebase hootch, we used ammo cans for spices, silverware, and other supplies. The ammo cans are bug, water and varmint proof.

get ya one of these and your set... I've got one of those I haven't used yet. ^^^^ I really like my portable oven/stove combo. Has came in real handy after the storm. Have a carrying case for it and everything, I cook off of the tailgate quite a bit. To the OP, no I've never had any luck storing spices/rubs outside.
