Below is my first gobbler. Last season was the first time I'd ever actually hunted Turkey. My Paw paw was a big turkey hunter and was outstanding. He held state records for turkeys based on what my Mom told me. Well when he passed he left me his Turkey box call which I took with me on this hunt. I had a couple of different calls that morning and nothing was working. I decided to use my Paw paws box call and I hit it and heard a gobbler which seemed miles away. So I would hit the box call and the gobbler gobbled until he got within probably forty yards but he wouldn't come on out. So I decided to try the electric call and nothing. I then hit the box again and he was quite a ways away and heading off so I grabbed my Paw paws box and hit it and he gobbled. I hit it again He he gobbled again, this time he'd made up a lot of ground so I hit it one more time and then set the box down and grabbed my rifle. Just as I got my rifle up and ready the gobbler broke through the brush and was about thirty years away. Put one at the base of the neck and I had my first gobbler and I'd called it in with Paw paws Box Call!
