I was watching some turkeys this morning from behind a large oak tree when I heard this little guy from around the tree. Momma must have pushed the little from the nest above.

He looks a little young compared to some I have seen still in the nest being cared for by the parents. For several yers a pair nested in a large oak in the pasture. I spent a lot of time watching them as a kid

Agreed he looks a bit young, a portion of the nest was also on the ground, I could hear his momma off in the distance. I watched the little guy for a while stretching his wings out and flapping his wings around. I left for a short while to check snares and when I came back to the area, the little guy was gone. I hope he makes it.

Before anything you do now is illegal I raised 2 Red Tailed hawks. They would come from close to a quarter of a mile away when I called them. A neighbor who lived about a quarter of a mile away did not like them and that is the end of the story. Such is life in the old days.

I walked around the area yesterday just checking for signs like the obvious pile of feathers and found nothing. I'm hoping the little guy is ok.

Seems a bit young to make it on his own. Hope he does though.

I did think about it, but did understand the severity if I did, which was not worth it by any means! I could hear momma not to far away and I understood the sound to mean that's close enough and I'm watching over my little one thank you!
