I had deer in my pen the first day.

Did you use 34" hog panels or 50" cattle panels to build the pens?

Really depends on the deer and what type of livestock fencing is on the place IME. I have had to open up one panel like a gate for couple of weeks to get them into the pen then shut it. Was fine after that.

No more than 2 days if there are existing feed pens on the property, up to 2 weeks if the local deer have never seen one before.

Was the feeder there before you put the pen up? or did you put up a new feeder and pen at same time?
Most of the time we have had deer at the feeders the same day. I would think deer density and natural forage may affect it too.

If they're hungry and there is corn or protein inside the pen they will figure out how to get in. Ask anyone that lives in the country & has a garden.
If you've had rain recently they may be more interested in native browse right now.
Deer jump over fences every day.

Just make it big. Deer are not comfortable in a small pen.......

How long ago did you put it up? 70' across? How many hog panels do you have and is it a square or round pen design? A lot of it depends on deer density and available food and the time of year. There are a lot of things that you can do to entice them in, like stxranchman said leave a panel open or you can put those sweet corn blocks in there, set your feeder to go off right before they move I have mine going off at 6:00 am and will move it up to 5:45 am tomorrow, in the pm at 8:30. If you throw to late in the am after they have bedded down (especially in the hot weather) the birds and squirrels get it, same thing in the afternoon. Good luck

70' across would be 13 to 14 hog panels. That's a circumference of 219 feet. Plenty big!

that is odd!!! I've had deer in the pen within an hour out near Ozona, within a day in east Texas. Do you have a way to open up one side of the pen (not pin ) for a few days so they might become accustomed to going in???

Weird. Put a camera facing outside. This, For how long it takes for them to go in the pens that all depends. One place I have them on they were there that night but then they have to jump the same material fence the pen is made from just to cross the property. if they are accustom to crossing that type fence no time or very little time if not it can take a while. Of course there are exceptions to that as all deer have a personality of their own

I have a new round pen with a feeder in it... 12 panels. In 3 weeks I have seen 1 deer near the pen. The new pen is roughly 60 ' from the old location. I think there is enough natural vegetation for them and they prefer the natural. After the natural food supply is gone they will be at the feeder.
