Had a 10 x 13 kennel extension slab poured Thursday. Instructions were make it like the existing slab. Thursday eve I noticed slab had broom finish, existing slab was smooth finish. How can broom finish be removed? I need it smooth so after washing kennels daily, I can use a squeegee.

One of two ways. Top coat or grind. Make the contractor comply to your agreement. Or remove and do it right.

I built a couple of Gymnasiums and we have used this as a floor leveler under the laminate. It is also supposed to be good for finish floor although I have not personally used it in this manner. https://www.cmcconstructionservices.com/shep-patch-powder-gray-45

Is your slab level or on a slope for drainage?

Grind and polish or tear out.
If the 2nd amendment was written just to include guns for hunting, why is there not an amendment to protect fishing poles?

The sooner the better with the grinder. I would disagree. Green concrete is hell on diamond stones. We rent a couple different grinders and I have a lot of time running one myself.

It’s a light broom finish, what about a hand grinder? It’s only 130sq ft

It’s a light broom finish, what about a hand grinder? It’s only 130sq ft That would take a long time. But can be done. You can buy a diamond cup from homedepot but I think their about fifty bucks. We rent a stand up grinder for 90 and then it is 60 for the stones.

Since it is outside I would run it wet.

If you perform the DIY, make sure not to grind to hard, you will have exposed aggregate. If the broom finish is light go light.

If you choose to grind make sure you check the hardness of the concrete. you should be hitting 2000-2500 PSI, soft concrete means hardbond diamonds. However you only have 130 sqft, not worth the time or energy to grind. Go to a flooring supply store and buy ARDEX CD FINE, this is a top dressing made specifically for the purpose of your intended use. Keep in mind when using it your working time and ambient temp, it likes to kick fast. One way to slow this process is to add cold water for your mix and do it early in the morning.
This is what I do everyday, fix bad concrete. In no way would I break out a grinder for 130 SQFT.

Hire a terrazzo floor company to polish and seal the concrete. Will look like Home Depot floor.
There's only 2 seasons in a year. Deer season and getting ready for deer season.
