Sorry had a bunch of coffee this morning coffee

I'm seeing AR parts and rifles all over the place on sale and clearance.

Is the AR on the way out?? Unless your a pretend operator???

I have mine and like it, never shoot it, Id rather roll out the LR bolt guns and bang steel

it just seems like the black rifle craze is slacking off, probably just me

thoughts? should I make an oxner like poll?

Race to the bottom is catching up. During the Obama years everyone got into ar making because it was profitable. Now supply exceeds demand and pricing are going lower

Lol ARs are the top selling rifle in America. They're going no where. It always happens this way when Republicans are in charge. When Democrats are in charge the gun manufacturers ramp up production to like 1000% just in case they have a run on guns because of a potential ban. Once the craze passes they have ample surplus in inventory and the price plummets. To move inventory manufactures have to give deep discounts.

If you notice most of all the discounted rifles are plain bottom of the barrel rifles. Quality components and rifles will still cost you. Now of course if you build a top tier rifle with top tier parts you better be ready to keep it. Because John Doe AR buyer rhat doesnt know anything is going to pay $499 for a bottom of the barrel Anderson AR just to say he has one instead of paying $1500 for a top tier gun that will shoot lights out.

Yep I have a few ARs that i wouldn't probably get a 1/4 of what I got invested if I tried to sell them today.

Has anyone checked AK-47 prices lately? I think AKs are more expensive than ARs now.

No joke. I’ll never understand that. Or SKS prices.

I liked AKs and SKSs when they were $400, the low price was the biggest part of the appeal. For $900, I'd rather have something else.

Don’t forget the plentiful super cheap ammo. I haven’t considered an AK in years, are they really that expensive and why?

I bought a NIB Norinco SKS for $97 out the door in 1997. I sold it years later for $600. It was in heavily used condition when I sold it too.

I’ve noticed that Antler Restrictions has really helped the age class of the bucks where I hunt. Average 4 yr olds are in the 130s with some really nice mature bucks. So yes I’ve noticed a difference with ARs.

Buzz was talking about antler restrictions? This whole time I've been thinking this thread was about anal reconstruction. That's the kind of AR you have to worry about when you get Buzz's age.

I have a full mil-spec Anderson in 5.56 that I built from the ground up. It is nice to have but I recently built a custom lower and bought a little better upper for it. I must say it is far better and its not that high end. I also built another custom lower and bought a BCA upper in 300 blackout. Cant wait to shoot it. Waiting on my glass to get here this week for it.
Now Ive moved on to building a high end 6.8ARP. I still lack a few parts and Im waiting on deals to finalize that build.
I have another stripped lower that just came in. It will be a grendel when it is done.
So, lower end stuff is nice to have. My middle of the road 5.56 shoots just as good as my bull barrel 223.

I like them all.

Several of my shooting buddies built, bought or had built some really top drawer AR's. They certainly shoot well, but not $2,000.00 better than many of the other "lower drawer" rifles that others are carrying. Trying to sell these expensive AR's is very difficult nowadays. You have to find the right person who doesn't mind spending a bunch of money for a premium AR. With the market place crowded with 4-600 dollar AR's that will give the shooter "minute of dinner plate" accuracy at 100 yards, convincing them to spend 3X that amount to make one ragged hole at 100 yards is a pretty tough sell. I have one that I aim for the eye of the hog and deer with; I've got three of them that I aim for the head or the neck. Dead is dead; pride of ownership counts for something; so I say, if you have the coin to spend, buy what makes you happy!
