I liked AKs and SKSs when they were $400, the low price was the biggest part of the appeal. For $900, I'd rather have something else. Some of us remember sub $100 SKS.

Sorry had a bunch of coffee this morning I'm seeing AR parts and rifles all over the place on sale and clearance. Is the AR on the way out?? Unless your a pretend operator??? I have mine and like it, never shoot it, Id rather roll out the LR bolt guns and bang steel it just seems like the black rifle craze is slacking off, probably just me thoughts? should I make an oxner like poll? X2

I remember SKSs 79.99 if you bought 10 at a time. Ammo was cheap then also. That was like 90 and 91 for you young folks.
Agree with those that say ARs have helped age class on bucks where I hunt. Back on topic the AR rifle craze post Sandy Hook was nuts and the buying hysteria of the day got prices driven up way too high and many saw $$$$ in being in the AR business. Then there was the ehuge build up of ARs when just about everyone thought Hillary would win many places bought or ordered ARs only not to have that market frenzy happen when Trump won.
lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true Mainstream news might be fun to watch

A friend's dad used to buy SKS rifles by the crate. I think he said he could get them in bulk for $35 each. Problem was, not all of them were semiauto. He and his son would go through testing all the guns to figure out which were semi and which were not. He said about 1 in 10 were full auto. Then he would box up the full auto and send them back.
It is far more important to be able to hit the target than it is to haggle over who makes a weapon or who pulls a trigger.
