I have a Remington Sendero SFII in 7mm that I am thinking about having some work done on. Can anyone recommend a good place to send it too? Thinking I want it bedded, a new trigger, blue printing the action, and I haven't decided on replacing the factory barrel yet. Is there an advantage to replacing the factory barrel with an after market barrel? What kind of investment am I looking at with and without a new barrel?

Many thanks in advance

BMag

How good does it shoot? Now? What ammo?

Most sendero shoot good out of the box

Order yourself a Triggertech trigger and change it yourself

I've yet to shoot a Sendero that wasn't a fine shooting rifle, I'd be tempted to just build from scratch. A stock Sendero is worth more than a modified.

Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

It shoots decent now, 1" groups at 200yds. My Sendero SF in 300 ultra mag shoots a bit better at almost one ragged hole at 200yds. I guess I'm a little picky and just want one hole at 200 plus yards. A lot of it probably has to do with me, no time anymore for the amount of shooting I used to get in. I'm only shooting factory ammo right now, no room for reloading equipment at the moment.

I agree they are both fine rifles, but the older SF just seems to be more precise.

I use Stone Range Gunsmithing in Tyler Texas for quite a while. He has bedded a couple of my Remington’s, replaces triggers on several and blue printed one. Good guy.

So you’ve gotta rifle that’s shooting .5 moa with factory loads and you’re not happy with it? Two difference makers would be a load tailored to the rifle and a better trigger. Sounds like it’s shooting great as is so not sure if I’d drop more money into it.

Agreed as far as blue printing.

Pillars, and bedding might not make it shoot better, but it will become more reliable in various rifle supports and weather change.

Tuned ammo is 33.33% of the equation of a fine shooting rifle.

1" at 200 yards is about 1/2" at 100 yards. I am not sure I have ever seen anyone unhappy with that especially with factory ammo!
