Just bought this for my new favorite rifle, and will be heading out to shoot it, hopefully later today.

Yes. It's unusual looking for sure.

Someone stuck a black zucchini on the end of that rifle. Does it cone in green? I think you can have it in any color you like, as long as its black. They may have a chrome colored one, too. Check out their web site for a real answer to your question.

I have stated my feelings about muzzle devices which are larger than the muzzle diameter.

Looks fine to me. That must be one of Kaw Valley's XL models.
I use their Linear Comp on both of my 16" 9mms but just the standard model.

A similar thing that I've said to women before...
Honey, it ain't the brake that makes your carbine look fat.
I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

That's what it is, 9X19: KAW Valley XL Linear Comp; 1/2X28.

I took the new rig with its new compensator out yesterday before we started drinking and put 50 rounds through it. No change in point of impact. Removed the compensator and shot a few rounds to get a feeling for how it felt and sounded (had my son standing 100 yards behind me to do the "sound" testing. He declared that there was a noticeable reduction in the sound, and I attribute that to the fact that the comp pushes all the gas forward, allowing none of it to escape to the sides, up or down. Probably the same DB level, just not as noticeable. The felt recoil "seemed" to me to be a bit different, but not necessarily reduced. Final test before we cleaned 'em up and put them away was to swap my threaded barrel assembly with his non-threaded assembly and, again, had no change in POI. I thought that was rather remarkable!

Just to make sure that it is done thoroughly, I go both ways.

Chinese red dot and a giant compensator. Looks ready to go!

I have one on my X95, it makes a difference not a lot, but noticeable. I can shoot out in the open without my ears ringing, I still use my hearing protection at the range though.
Go get in the woods
