Recently read about a benchrest shooter that starts his barrels off as a 6mm (unsure of exactly which one) and when he’s wears it out he cuts it and makes it a 7mm.

Could this be done, going from 22-250 or 243 to 6.5 creed?

Just curious

Not cost effective but can be done

Right.

Might as well spend $350 on a new 6.5mm barrel, and have it chambered/ threaded.

Sounds like something I may think about, I got a Ruger No. 1 Varminter in .22-250. What do you think FiremanJG?
