You can't come up with $3500 to fix your best friend? Even if the broken bones were fixed, it's a crap shoot as to whether the nerves are damaged beyond repair. So you wind up with the poor guy having to drag a stump around with no feeling in it. It's more complicated than just putting it back together. Your comment isn't justified.

I have a dog that had a similar break, but not as high of impact as out the back of a moving truck, it was closer to the knee got lucky had a vet fix very reasonable, nice to have a daughter that's a RVT.
I am sure your dog will recover fully, also I have hog hunted with a 3 legged dog that out performed 4 legged dogs.

My neighbor has a 3 legged lab and still fast as lightning. My dog jumped out of my truck when he was probably 2 going 30mph, never let him ride back there again. Tough situation you just went thru but glad he survived.
