Awesome pics I wonder if the doe in the first picture is the mother of the fawn she's licking. She sure looks really prego in that pic I don't think she is the mother. In the second photo she is following a different doe. I see this quite a bit. I have seen 4 fawns nursing a doe at the same time and I know they are not all hers. The just seem to take care of each others fawn at times.

So I just read that fawns can not urinate or defecate “on their own” for about 3-4 weeks after birth, they need their mama to stimulate the process and the doe licks up the urine and eats the poo in order to better nurse the fawn and create antibodies to the dawns bacteria load. This is crazy disgusting but cool at the same Tome, something I never knew. Perhaps what’s going on in the first picture?
