Let’s not argue amongst ourselves.
Let’s turn back to the topic that I must have overlooked, that being chital wants a recoil pad on a 30-30.... FIFY. Definitely the more important topic though.

I have seen plenty of big horns within 200 yards of the roads in CO. Some on shoulder of I70. What is the challenge?  Trying to get a shot between passing cars... Nothing to it. Just like with the deer you see from the roads. They are all like that.

I have seen plenty of big horns within 200 yards of the roads in CO. Some on shoulder of I70. What is the challenge? Trying to get a shot between passing cars... Nothing to it. Just like with the deer you see from the roads. They are all like that. Depending on which side of the continental divide you are on, that is the preferred method. Kinda like east of 35 here.

If you want to hunt out west. Just do it. I kicked it around for years until I did it. Wish i had started years before. But set your goals along with your wallet. I've been 3 times had bulls at 10 yards. Still haven't brought home an elk. My only regret is I did not start till I was 35.

If you still want to enjoy hunting deer, don’t go.
It will ruin you on whitetail hunting
For it is not the quarry that we truly seek, but the adventure.

If you still want to enjoy hunting deer, don’t go.
It will ruin you on whitetail hunting I still love both. Totally different games, but both still get my adrenaline up.
