Actually the most expensive axis buck I saw sell at the YO last Saturday was a buck that sold for $7950. Which of course makes it the most expensive axis buck I’ve ever seen. It was also one of the ugliest axis bucks I’ve ever seen as well.

It was at the most 31” with probably 6 or 7” brows and 3 or 4” caudels. It had one 3” drop on its right antler near the caudel tine.

It sold with a group of 10 does for $950/hd. Another group of 10 does sold for $250/hd. If you subtract that 2500 from the total you get what they paid for what was the ugliest buck at the sale.

I guess you are right if you look at it that way. Actually if you go by price per pound the lemur that sold for $1450 has them all beat.

$17k for a bongo doesn't seem that bad considering what the hunts go for

Yep that lemur was expensive by the pound. Did you buy any ibex?

Yep it was reasonable for a mature bull. Hard to get in that business without real deep pockets when the females cost 35,000 IF you could find them.

I’ve often wondered why don k isn’t the bongo king. Since one of the principles he espouses is to raise the expensive stuff... and you know ol don is rich as 4’ up a boar’s a??.

No I didn't buy anything. I was broke after paying the $50 to get in. Actually I should have bought some if the Ibex they had there. I thought they went way to cheap. I believe a person could have made some good money on them later. But since I am as rich as you say I really don't need to make any additional money.

36x34 but what did the rest of him look like? I see lots of people way too hung up on main beams when a 31-32" buck can be over 170 and score much better and look better than the 36" "monster"
