Wasn't meant to be a brag thread the hunt is 3000 dollars which is cheaper then most the hunts in Tx. I was just excited about going and wanted to share it with some of my friends on a HUNTING FORUM. I save money for these trips just like everyone else. I try to make one trip a year in the off season since I spend most of deer season guiding others and don't get to hunt much.

Nothing wrong with the humble brag, he is just saying you earned the right to brag. We are 100% sure your money and earned PTO wasn’t a give’me. We support the right of our fellow sportsman to humbly brag. I too look forward to the pictures of the adventure. Good luck, be safe!!! If you have WiFi don’t leave us hanging. Also take lots of pics of the boat and accommodations. My wife keeps hinting On wanting to do a similar trip.

The other 4 are from Tx they help at the ranch in some form or fashion from guiding, cooking or working deer. We booked the whole boat to ourselves for 6 days. We get to fish for Halibut, salmon and rock fish and to bear hunt in whatever order or we want to do. They said we would glass for bears while we fish and then if we see a bear try to put a stalk on it. Then along in the afternoon they would carry us in and drop us on the tide flats to hunt the evening. Once we leave port we will not have cell service for 6 days. They provide all the meals, lodging ( sleep on the 60 foot boat) cold storage, fishing gear, bait and transportation to the shore to hunt.

Good luck, take lots of pictures. Great scenery, the bears ought to still have their winter-weight coats. Heck, I'd be tickled just to get in six days of halibut fishing. Here's my little rig on Homer spit, back in the 1980s:

I've shot a few bears so I was looking something with unique marking. I asked the captain if they ever killed any color phase bears he said one in 28 years. By day 5 I've not seen a what I think is a 350 bear within shooting range about 1 pm is all changes all at once bears are out feeding I can see 8 bears on 3 different hill sides 3 are within shooting distance now comes the really hard decision do I go for a solid black 300 pounder at about 200 hundred yards or do go for the 200 cinnamon at 540 that has a really bad spot to retrieve. Well we don't have cinnamon color bears in NC luck was with me I was able to pull off a good shot at 541yards 3 hours later I put my hands on my first cinnamon bear We also caught a 148 halibut on the same day
