Got out on the lake for the first time in forever!! The fish were on FIRE!!!

Started the morning fishing for Bass and caught some decent ones and one really good one. About 9am went to one of my Crappie holes and found it loaded with Sandbass instead. Just flat wore them out! Ended up bringing home 42 jumbo size Sandbass and one jumbo Craappie. Caught well over 100 between the two of us.

Cant wait to do it again real soon!!

About 1.5 hours start to finish. Filleting them goes pretty quick. Washing and checking for bones and bagging eats up a ton of time.

I used to live in Oak Point before I moved to Alabama. I remember this time of year when the shad are spawning and the sandbass are chasing them into the back of coves. I would head over to my neighbors place and we would walk behind his house and catch our limit within a couple of hours. Yesterday was one of those days. Four of them hit the cove and fished from 10 - 2. End result, 100 sandbass, 1 crappie, and 4 channel cat. You know you have had a good day fishing when you need a 4 wheeler to haul your catch back up the hill.


coffee spelled backwards is eeffoc. I don't give eeffoc until I have my morning coffee.
