Son got his first Tom and it was pouring down. All the feathers are clinging to each other and when dried, remained that way. What’s the best way to fluff these back to their natural state?

i take the fan off, cut away as much of the yellow oily stuff at the base, use a wire brush and scrape the rest as best as i can. then wash and fully submerse in water and dawn dish liquid or maybe water and borax. spread it out and let it area dry in a light breeze. then borax it real good and tack down and let dry for several weeks.
