Man, they shot up a bunch of ammo last visit. I just finished up 250 of 9MM and 400 of 38. What everyone says about Universal metering better than Unique seems to be true, and the reloads with that powder shoot to the same POI as the Unique loads.

Busy and ready for the next round of shooting, other than you will shoot half of that and have to refill the cases just to make sure they still have trouble beating you.
Glad you tried Universal. it is a good powder for sure

Yup Chad, all single stage. Maybe 400 a day, over 2 days, counting the testing ammo for POI.
The old Lyman 55 meters the 231 (9mm) and Universal (38) pretty well.
I’m glad i’m done...for now.
The oldest granddaughter is meeting with her parents with some big news. She’s the one dating the Army Ranger Captain. I hope she’s telling them he proposed. I like that young man, though he isn’t that good a shot. Not much chance those grandkids will ever outshoot me. :-)

I use unique for my plinking loads. I like everything about it except how nasty it burns. Feedback on the universal when you get a chance to shoot would be great.
I can’t wait for my grand kids to get older so we can have adventures. Congrats and enjoy.

wp75169, the Universal does seem a little cleaner than the Unique did. Oddly enough, it turns out that the grains of Unique and that of the Universal are the same for 125 gr JHP’s, though not for the 158 gr wadcutters. Just to say it, the burned Unique smells better than the Universal. I think I’ll stay with the Universal and not go back to Unique.
