I have some good pictures of birds being regulars at feeders. Anyone have experience setting up pop up blinds within shot gun range? Does the blind need to be "in-place" for a while so they get use to it, or has anyone found success setting one up before daylight and not having the birds be wary of it? Most would be on edges of trees and not necessarily "within" the trees if you know what I mean. Thanks.

They normally pay no attention to them regardless of where they are. Treeline setup is not neccessary from my experience. Mesh windows are going to make the biggest difference.
We set one in March and 2 hours later was covered in turkey 15 yards away. A tom will question why it is making the noise of a hen so be ready or he will circle at 60 yards for 2 hours.

I use my decoys when doing pop up (not so much if run/gun stalking)especially if open field.

It won't work in Wimberley were I hunt unless you really brush it in well..same for deer. They won't have it. I get so jealous when I see those shows and the blind is in an open field...that would never work here

Hunted out of pop up binds on and off for ten years and never had them booger to one till yesterday. Tried it again this morning and they would have none of it. Strange, because 25 miles north of here, we have harvested our fair share from one, but not here I guess.

This year I was determined to get one with my crossbow. I set up a pop up at 10 am. At 4:30 I nailed one with my crossbow!

It worked out great. The birds paid it no attention. Deer were spooky, but no problem for the turkeys.

I setup my DoubleBull within 25 yards of feeder. No issues. Wear black and limit movement and sound.
