The wife and I normally skip those places. Never had a bad meal at either place, but also never had anything special that would make me want to go there again. Do any of you folks actually LIKE to eat there?

One Son in Law loves Cheddars, but he has a sensitive English stomach (his Mom, now in her 90’s, was a war bride). He won’t eat anything spicy.

I enjoy the chicken tenders buffalo style with a double side of broccoli rice cheese casserole. Then they croissants are pretty good at Cheddar's, but that's the only thing I ever order then when I go there.

Cheddars is okay but I don't care for Golden Corral at all.

I like Cheddars, good food, portions and price up

I have eaten at the Golden Corral twice in my life, the last time was back in the late 90's, never again.

I like Cheddar's food, portion, and price. What I don't like is, at least my location, that place is always crowded and loud, no matter when you show up!

The two reasons many go there.

If you can find a new golden coral generally they are much better than the older ones.. I live near one in the Colony and its a nasty smelling dump.... The new Cheddars in the colony is okay.. Constant terrible service.. But the one in Dallas at Greenville and 635 is always a good place...My new go to is the New Furrs if you can find one... Always clean and great veggie and entree selection....

Agree on Furr's. Furr's is 10X better than Golden Corral.

The last time I ate at a Furr's the chicken fried steak smelled like a wet dog.

We eat at the Cheddars at Alliance on occasion. It is clean, and the food is above fair, but usually pretty crowded.

Golden Corral is a different animal. I've only been to a couple, but seem kind of sketchy. I am really not a fan of any self-serve buffets. Just a bit unhygienic for my tastes. My 80 year old parents always drag me to their favorite Chinese buffet because my dad goes crazy on the peel and eat shrimp. I think the place is disgusting, but enjoy my time with them, so tolerate.

LOL ... my wife always refers to Golden Corral and Sirloin Stockade as a hog trough with mediocre food.

my wife likes Cheddars and we've been a few times ... it was "okay" ...

Back in the 90s, I had a cheddars around the corner from my apt., so I ate there quite a bit. I would pick it over some of the other chains but nothing special.

I am not sure if my tastes have changed over the years, but it seems all the chain restaurants fall in that boat. They are tolerable, but that's it. I can definitely make better and don't like wasting my money.

Golden corral has changed big time over the years as I was telling my kiddos this weekend. When I was a kid you ordered a steak off a sign and it came when one of those plastic plates with the metal liner like they had at k-bobs and a small salad bar to all you can eat salad bar to potato bar to all you can eat buffet. Can you even order off a menu?

Cheddar is good and well priced.
Corral is a hit or miss, most of the time a miss, people just park there and eat for hours. Pretty sad to see.
The one in Galveston is nasty and a complete freakshow

Not a fan of Cheddars at all, Texas Roadhouse is much better in my opinion.
