I saw the "Any action where you are this morning???????" so figured I might as well make my Spring Turkey hunting post for the year. They were pretty vocal and very responsive to sweet hen talk this weekend. It was windy as hell on Saturday and my impatience led to me busting all of my afternoon set ups trying to move closer to birds I could not see and assumed were further away due to the wind. I did give one a #5 facial a mere 40 minutes into the season tough! I was able to piss off the hens he was with and dragged them into my set and he tagged along! grin Sunday was absolutely beautifully calm. Bird #2 fell at 7:40 AM and #3 around 9:00 AM. All came in doing the feathered bowling ball full strut tango, gobbling and spit and drumming their heads off to every cluck and whine. I shot #3 in mid-gobble which in all the birds I've killed I've never done. Pretty funny I must say. A bumper crop of two year olds helps out for sure. The only bad thing about turkey hunts like this past weekend is it leads to too many breakfast ales before 9:30 laugh

clap

We've had 3 really good crops of birds. The number of 2 year olds and jakes is just phenominal. I had 6-2 year olds come in strutting with a biggun Sunday evening..totally silent.

Duckman I gotta have a reason to tell Ms. Mallard that I absolutely have to go back to the lease laugh Also have to take the son and daughter down when they can and try to get them a bird.

That's why I stopped at 1 after a whole 20 minutes of hunting. Still have 3 more trips to make. A lot of sitting at camp. cheers
