Sounds pricey. That's how mine usually end up. If you aren't familiar with the stocks, the PRS is pretty heavy and the Luth-AR is fairly light weight. I have both.

I had Precision Firearms build me a complete Grendel rifle. There was an abnormally long wait time for my rifle, 3+ months if I remember correctly. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice rifle and worth the money. And the barrel was accurate. BUT... I wouldn't say it's worth waiting 3-4 months for. You are doing the right thing putting all your money in the barrel. I'd suggest just buying a Lilja right off the shelf. I believe they come with a head spaced bolt.

Also, it is a bit of extra money, but adding a JP LMOS BCG and a H2 Silent Captured Spring assembly is absolutely magical when paired with an adjustable gas block.

Yep, this is going to be a bit pricey but as I have gotten into the build its become more fun. I will have to wait a good long while for the barrel and not having purchased anything from Precision Firearms before had me somewhat concerned at first. Didn't know anyone else who had dealt with them. I am going to check out the stocks mentioned and have started looking as scopes too. Everything I've had to this point has been Leupold but I this one probably won't be......

OK - now I am looking at buffers and there seems to be a lot of conflicting information out there..... Some indicate that a standard AR15 (.223) buffer is sufficient while others recommend H2 (not to mention all the spring options). I am reloading and suspect that if this turns out like other load work-ups I will end up between the middle to the top end of the powder charge recommendations. I plan on using a 123gr bullet. What does the voice of experience say ??

With my home build and all 150ish rounds of "expedience," I just used a standard buffer kit. Mines bcm but seems like any milspec will work. That said, I got an Odin works barrel and bcg set that came with a tunable gas block. I barely did any adjusting down from max and everything functions well so far. Apparently I can turn the gas down further and make it shoot softer but I like the reliability so far.

I'm a dude who likes long barrels!

You have an adjustable gas block. You can pick the standard spring and buffer and adjust the gas according to the load.

I used a JP Silent Captured Spring H2 weight, with rifle length gas system and an adjustable gas block. It was an exceptionally smooth and reliable setup.
